Fix Windows Store Error 0x80073cf9 in Windows 10 / 8

How to Fix Windows Store Error code: 0x80073cf9

Users around the world have tried a number of methods to fix this problem, but only a few have worked for them. We will mention all the methods which can solve this error for you. Follow the methods mentioned below one by one, until you no longer see this error. We will start with the simplest of fixes, going down with more complex ones.

#1 –  Create AppReadiness / AUInstallAgent Folders

This solution has helped many users to fix the problem. The folders AppReadiness and AUInstallAgent normally exist inside the Windows directory. But, if these folders are not present in your device’s C:\Windows\ directory, you will have to create them. Before beginning with the method, make sure you are logged in as Administrator. Now, follow the steps to perform this method.

 

Step 1. Open File Explorer. If you are unable to locate it, simply right-click on the Start menu button and select File Explorer.

If you had the Windows OS installed in other disk partition, go to the Windows folder in that disk partition.

Step 3. Here you have to create two new folders. To do this, right-click on empty space, go to New and select Folder. When asked for permission, select Yes. Repeat this one more time to create another folder.

Step 4. Rename New Folder to AUInstallAgent and New Folder (2) to AppReadiness. To do this, right-click on the folders and select Rename, then enter the new name.

After creating both the folders, restart your computer and check if the problem is fixed. If the error is still appearing, go to the next method.

#2 –  Check Date and Time & Region

The simplest method which might do the job for you is checking if the Region and Date and Time are correct. If they are set to correct, you can move on to the next method. But, if they are not correct, you will have to set them to correct. To do this, simply follow the steps.

#3 – Log Out and Log In in Windows Store

#4 – Reset Windows Store

#5 –  Turn Off Firewall / Antivirus

The Firewall or Antivirus can also affect Microsoft Store, resulting in error ox80073cf9. So, try turning it off and then try downloading the application. If you are able to complete the download without any problem, turn ON the firewall / Antivirus back. And if you are still getting the error, try the next method.

 

 

#6 – Restart Windows Update services

In this method, we will restart Windows Update services. This method will help the users who are getting the error code ox80073cf9 while trying to download Windows Update through Windows Store. Here’s how to perform the method.

sfc /scannow

 

Step 2 will start the scanning process for damaged files and it will replace them too. The process will take quite a time, so wait patiently for it to finish. #8 – Delete OLE Folder

This method has seemed to work for many users facing the same issue. In this method, you will have to delete the OLE folder from Registry. But, before doing anything with the Registry, you should take a backup of it. So, first we will make a backup of it and then we will delete the OLE folder from it.
