Remove Uninstalled items from Startup Tab in Task manager of Windows 10

Most of the times user prefer to disable startup items to decrease CPU load of the PC. While doing this i found that many of the programs i uninstalled are still there in startup tab. For example i uninstalled Free download manager, but its still there in list of startup items as FDM in the list.

How to get rid of Uninstalled Items from the startup Tab in Windows 10 Task manager

1] Press windows key + R together in your Keyboard to open RUN.

2] Now, Type Regedit in it .

3] Hit enter to open registry editor.

4] Once the registry editor opens up , browse to the following location.

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  • Software
  • Microsoft
  • Windows
  • CurrentVersion
  • Run

5] Now, Delete the Item from the left to get rid of the item from the startup Items.

Alternative Easy Method

1] Download AutoRun from Microsoft Official website.

2] Extract it and Run it.

3] Now, uncheck the program you do not want in the startup items list.
