Windows 10 Store Cache Damaged [Resolved]

Almost every windows 10 user uses one app from the Windows Store. Your Windows experience will get spoiled if your store stops working. People have encountered several problems with the Windows 10 Store. One of the very common issues is the damaged store cache message. We have written down several fixes for you to try.

WSReset

Windows has saved an automatic script that helps to restore your Windows Store. WSReset clears the cache of this application and tries to resolve any issues with the store.

1 – Search cmd in Windows search box. Right click and choose run as administrator

2 – Type wsreset in command prompt window and hit Enter key

3- Reboot your computer after the process is finished.

Reset Store Cache

1- Press the Windows key and S button again to open Windows Search and type File Explorer Options.

2- In the newly opened window, open the view tab and click on View Hidden files and folders. Apply the settings and exit.

3- In the Windows Explorer, address bar type the following address but change the <username> with your username in the Windows 10 device.

 

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

4- Locate a folder named cache in the LocalState folder and rename it to something else.

5- Create a new empty folder and rename it to Cache.

6- Reboot your computer and see if the store has started working.

Uninstall Movies & TV app

Several users have reported that the Movies and Tv app conflicts with Windows Store and might be the reason for your problems. TO fix this simply follow the steps below to uninstall the universal app.

1- Open the command prompt with admin privileges by right-clicking on the Windows Logo on the bottom left corner of your screen.

 

2- In the WinX menu click on Command Prompt (admin).

3- A permission popup will appear, click on yes.

4- In the command prompt window type PowerShell and press the return key.

5- Wait for Powershell to open up and then type the following command  Get-AppxPackage *zunevideo* | Remove-AppxPackage

6- Upon completion, the application will be uninstalled.

7- Reboot your computer and see if the solution works.

Check Your Region Settings

The real issue why you are getting Windows Store Cache is damaged might be because of wrong Region or Language settings. Follow the steps below to ensure you have chosen the correct settings.

1- On your keyboard, press the Windows key and I button together to open the settings page and then click on Time & Language.

2- In the left pane select Region and then select the United States as your Country or Region.

 Reset Windows Store App

1- Open the start menu and click on the gear icon to open settings.

2- Click on the Apps section.

3- Locate and select Microsoft Store from the given list and then click on Advanced Options.

4- Click the Reset button and then confirm again by clicking reset on the newly opened window.
